Transportation Supervisor

SKC is seeking a Transportation Supervisor that will report to the Project Manager.  The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for all transportation operations. 

Duties:

  • Provides limited aspects of technical supply management including inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization as it relates to depot, local, or other supply activities
  • Maintain and develop positive business relationships with customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to contract activity
  • Available to respond to customers and/or employees at any given time
  • Approve employee timesheets weekly, ensuring accurate recording of time
  • Provide daily work assignments to employees
  • Process and submit weekly production reports as required
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application of interpretation of established guidelines
  • Conduct employee orientation and training
  • Evaluating and rewarding performance 
  • Counseling and taking corrective action 
  • Reviewing and approving time records 
  • Mentoring and coaching / motivating to establish an effective team 
  • Resolving issues and recommending actions to improve delivery of services to the customers 
  • Participating in or conducting meetings 
  • Preparing reports, plans and working instructions 
  • Ensures compliance with Safety, OSHA and environmental requirements.
  • Oversees physical security and property accountability systems for the project.
  • Directs and coordinates transportation staff functions in support of Yuma Proving Ground.
  • Ensures effective implementation of installation and company policies; briefs transportation and vehicle status to management.
  • Recommend Metrics for Project Dashboard which support successful execution of PWS task

Qualifications:

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Possess general supervisory experience, supply management experience and transportation experience directly applicable to support of local units, tenants and other DoD activities in accordance with AR 5-9 Area Support Responsibilities and applicable DoD policy and directives.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in Army ground transportation and dispatching; driver selection, training, testing and licensing; and Army vehicle accident reporting; to include specialized knowledge of the applicable automated LIS applications required to support dispatching and driver training and licensing
  • Intricate knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements.  
  • Supervision of 2-60 full time/or part time employees
  • Possess appropriate verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.
  • Prior Military experience desired
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance
